Amongst the main causes of stress and anxiety and related illnesses is to brood continually in a negative manner over many areas of your life. When you brood in this way, powerful feelings are stirred such as sadness, frustration, anger and fear. The less negative brooding you perform, the greater you reduce stress. The key is to do an activity that needs a lot of concentration and you’re now going to find three superb, easy-to-do stress management activities to help you relieve the pressure.

1. Get  Physical - Physical exercise is a fantastic stress-buster, the secret is to perform an exercise where you need to concentrate. A very good friend of mine just loves playing golf! When he’s stressed, he plays golf. He says hitting the ball is a great way to let out stress, and of course, you need to concentrate on hitting it correctly. Martial arts worked for me, I did ju-jitsu and you really need to concentrate. And one of my neighbors performs boxercise routines twice a week. These types of activities will enable you to relieve stress, anxiety and depression and contribute to total well-being.

2. Express Yourself - An excellent activity for reducing stress where a lot of concentration is required is writing. A lot of people keep journals to help get their thoughts in order. I especially like to write articles about post-war history. Why not write about subjects you’re interested in? Or maybe you can express yourself through art? Two creative and satisfying activities that make very good stress relievers are painting and drawing. Surfing the web to find websites to begin is a smart move here.

3. Refresh The Soul - Music is possibly the best way to reduce stress. Playing a musical instrument is enormously satisfying however it isn’t the only way music can help you find relief. Dancing to your favorite sounds will also work or you could sign-up for dance classes. Another good idea is to learn the history of your favorite songwriters and bands. Something I find really interesting is to find out what lies behind the song. It can be absorbing and fascinating and as well as busting stress, you’ll also gain more pleasure from listening to songs. Doing all of these activities is what makes music so good for relieving stress.

Try to add each of these activities to your stress management program for maximum benefit. They work so well because you won’t brood on negative aspects, which is the aim here. You’ll also enjoy a sense of satisfaction and your physical health will also feel the benefits. A total winning outcome!
